H&I mission team returns from Ireland
A team of young people from the Highlands and Islands has just returned from a period of mission to the Emerald Isle. The team was led by evangelist Donald Buchanan.
A team from the Scottish highlands and islands recently returned from the Irish Republic and Northern Ireland after a two week mission. With representation from Brora, Mallaig, the isle of Lewis, the isle of Skye and Benbecula the team of twelve young and young at heart missionaries preached in the streets of many towns and held evening meetings at venues throughout the 'Emerald Isle'.
Evangelist Donald Buchanan who led the team reports:
"The favour of God was with them and reports suggest that many people came to a place of repentance and salvation with others coming back into a living relationship with Jesus Christ. Some of the people who professed salvation were from the Basque region of Spain, from Albania as well as from Ireland. The mission has been an extremely blessed time and many lives have been transformed including the lives of those who went on the Mission."

Donald Buchanan is well-known throughout the Highlands and Islands and beyond as an itinerant evangelist. He has led missions throughout the area including a Tent Mission in Inverness three years ago outreach events in Brora and Glenelg.
Ed footnote: Ireland is divided between the Republican and (mainly) Catholic south (Eire) and Northern Ireland (see map opposite) which has a mixed population of Roman Catholic/Republicans who would like to see union with the south, and Protestant Unionists who would wish to remain part of the United Kingdom. The division has been the cause of conflict since the 17th Century.
