Baptisms in River Ness

A group of Christian believers made a public confession of their faith and, in obedience to the word of God, were baptised in the River Ness.

On Sunday 16 August 2009 six Christian believers who are all part of Inverness Christian Fellowship were baptised as part of their public testimony in the River Ness which flows through the city of Inverness.

Earlier that day they had each given a spoken testimony at a church service held in Millburn Academy. A very encourging assembly of Christians from ICF and other local churches in the area gather to encourage and support those being baptised. Following a short time of praise on the river bank at Fisher's Bothy the baptisms were performed by pastor Ian Ross of ICF.

A number of passers-by interrupted their Sunday walks to stop and watch the ceremony taking place. One journalist from the local press was also in attendance to record the event.

On the same day the Culloden-based King's Fellowship were conducting baptism on the north shore of Loch Ness.

Those who were baptised were:
James Gordon, Louise Vanzetta, Luke Rakowski, Danyal Khalid, Raymond and Maria Finlayson.
