Christian Candidates Draw the Votes

Christian Candidates drew a significant number of votes in the Highalds and Islands, taking third place over the Lib Dems and Conservatives in one constituency and beating all the minor parties including the Greens in another.


Western Isles Constituency


In the Western Isles, Murdo Murray stood as an Independent and took third place over the Lib Dems.
The voting was: SNP - 6,723; Labour - 4,838; Murdo Murray (Ind.) - 1,412; Lib Dem - 1 ,097
Conservative - 647

Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch and Strathspey


In Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch and Strathspey, Donald Boyd who was standing for the Christian Party was first behind the main parties and beat all the minority and independent candidates.
The result was: Lib Dem - 19,172; Labour - 10,407; SNP - 8,803; Conservative - 6,278
Donald Boyd (Chr. Party) - 835; followed by the Greens and other minority parties.
