Update from Israel: Aug. 2024

Arni Klein gives his perspective from his home in Israel.

IN July (2024) Arni Klein of Emmaus Way ministry, sent out an update information/prayer letter (see also link in left-hand margin) in which he wrote the first paragraph below.:

GREETINGS from the front line. As facts and testimonies regarding the events surrounding October 7th continue to surface in mainstream Israeli media, it is clear that our military officials were warned of the planned attack, complete with an actual playbook that was followed more or less to the letter. For some reason the high command chose to ignore multiple credible passionate warnings. The public outcry for accountability will not go away.

Understandably, a large percentage of Israelis have lost trust in our political and military leadership. What a disturbing reality it is. We are too smart to be that stupid and too professional to be that incompetent. The military were essentially shown what was coming. They could have easily minimized or even neutralized Hamas’ plan. The public is being fed a narrative that chief government ministers, including the Prime Minister, were not informed of any impending threat. It feels like we are witnessing an exposure of an Israeli deep state.
