An Online Passover Seder
An opportunity to share in a Passover Seder with fellow believers.

An Online Passover Seder

11.00 - 13.00 (UK time)
 AT ONE of the daily online prayer/fellowship meetings it was felt it would be good to 'remember the Lord's death till he comes' at an online Passover Seder.
The online PowerPoint presentation will be led by Geoff Barnard and based on a booklet produced by him entitled:
'The Fountain Seder: A Celebration of the Passover.'
Since the Passover is a Feast of the Lord (Leviticus 23:4-8) and, because Jesus is Lord (Philippians 2:8-11), it follows that every element of the Seder speaks of him.
The second aspect of this Seder is prophetic. Jeremiah tells us:
“The days are coming," declares the LORD, "when men will no longer say, 'As surely as the LORD lives, who brought the Israelites up out of Egypt,' but they will say, 'As surely as the LORD lives, who brought the Israelites up out of the land of the north and out of all the countries where he had banished them.' For I will restore them to the land I gave their forefathers” (Jeremiah 16:14-15).
Indeed we are living in those days.
The Jewish Seder is structured around a book called the Haggadah, which means "telling" in Hebrew. The Haggadah tells the story of the Exodus from Egypt through various songs, prayers, and readings. There are many parts, all of which has its own unique significance and symbolism, and they are designed to help participants remember and celebrate the liberation of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt. The Christian Seder is different in that the focus is on Jesus, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world (John 1:29).
“Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. therefore, let us keep the Festival”
(1 Corinthians 5:7-8).
It is suggested that each participant bring their own Matzah and Wine/Grape Juice to the table. Although the other elements are optional, they will be mentioned. Hopefully, most of the songs will be familiar. As Paul the apostle reminds us:
