The following is a summary of some of the comments that have come in following the 'Our Children - Education or Indoctrination' conference -
* Thanks for Saturday, I would like to say I enjoyed it, but I think it was more a case of shock and awe! It was very informative and gives lots of things to think about.
* It was very professionally done and had a wealth of information for parents and grandparents.
* Thank you so very much for such a stimulating and challenging conference this afternoon. As believers we should be fully aware of what is going on in the world, especially in our own country and to be able to discuss it at the appropriate times.
* I must admit, that I finished the afternoon slightly stunned, but knowing that as a grandparent, God willing I will be a bit better informed!
* It was brilliant and so inspiring! fired me up all over again. Since I work in a school! thank you so much for organizing it for us. Tremendously worthwhile.
* Truly excellent, speakers giving insights across the range of issues and helping us to tackle the issues in our schools and communities.
* Very informative and practical too.
* It was brilliant and so inspiring! fired me up all over again since I work in a school! thank you so much for organising it for us. Tremendously worthwhile.
* Thank you so much for this afternoon conference.
* I wanted to say thank you very much for a really excellent conference this afternoon on our children’s education. Very needful and very informative though a little heavy going at times. It has provided me much fuel for my prayer for children. For the last few months the Lord has laid our children on my heart to pray to the extent that I have been sharing information with my pastor with regard to what is going on in our schools.
I really think that we are living in an age where, if at all possible, we should pray and consider taking our children out of the public schooling system.
* Thank you for this afternoon. How have we ever let this happen to our little children - I think as Christians we have to take much of the blame - we have not been sufficiently vigilant and have been too trusting. Please pass on my appreciation to all those who worked towards making the afternoon such a success.

PRESS RELEASE
12th April 2023 – for immediate release TRANS EQUALITY ORGANISATION WELCOMES DECISION TO CHALLENGE UK GOVERNMENT’S VETO OF GENDER RECOGNITION REFORM (SCOTLAND) BILL
Scottish Trans, the trans equality project of LGBTI equality and human rights charity the Equality Network, has welcomed the Scottish Government’s announcement that they will seek to overturn the UK Government’s block of the Gender Recognition Reform (Scotland) Bill. Vic Valentine, Manager of Scottish Trans, said “The bill as passed would introduce a simpler and fairer way for trans men and women to be legally recognised as who they truly are, allowing them to live with the dignity we all deserve. It was passed by the Scottish Parliament by 86 votes to 39, with the overwhelming support of the SNP, Labour, the Greens and the LibDems. That followed years of consultation, and lengthy Parliamentary consideration and debate. The bill covers matters that are devolved to the Scottish Parliament, and its consequences were considered by MSPs in great detail. For the UK Government to seek to block the Scottish democratic process in this way, simply because they disagree with the welcome decision the Scottish Parliament has made to improve trans people’s lives, is unacceptable. Other countries all over the world have introduced similar laws, with the only impact being a positive one – on the tiny number of trans people who need legal recognition of how we live our lives, as everyone is entitled to under international human rights law.” All the parties in the Scottish Parliament except the Conservatives committed to improve gender recognition law in their 2016 and 2021 Holyrood manifestos. The Scottish Government consulted publicly on the proposals in 2017, then published the bill and consulted again in 2019. The Parliament’s Equalities, Human Rights and Civil Justice Committee consulted again in the spring and summer of 2022, and heard oral evidence on the bill from 39 witnesses. Those included supporters and opponents of the legislation, and experts in matters raised about it, such as equality law, women’s services, young people, sport and prisons, and religious representatives. They also heard from the leader of the Irish Seanad, about experience with similar legislation passed there some years ago, about which she was wholly positive. The Committee recommended that the Parliament approve the principles of the bill. Over 300 amendments were then considered at stages 2 and 3 of the bill, and more than 80 of them, from MSPs of different parties, were agreed upon to address matters that had been raised in relation to the bill.
