A word from Lance Lambert (April 2011)

Lance Lambert, the international Bible teacher and speaker who lived in Jerusalem, spoke the following word of warning to the church. It is a call to 'stand in the gap' to see God's purposes revealed.

It is well with you that you intercede for Israel that she be saved, for it is My purpose to save her. I will complete the circle of Redemption that began with Abraham and my promise that a great nation would come forth from him, and that in him would all the families of the earth be blessed. And so it has happened! For Israel became the vehicle through which My Word has come to all the nations; And also My Salvation; and the knowledge of My Purpose.

From this nation, above all, came the Messiah. Soon the fullness of the Gentiles will have been saved, and I will turn again to Israel, to My Jewish People. They shall be reingrafted into their own olive tree, and My promise to Abraham will be gloriously fulfilled.

Then their hardness of heart will melt, their blindness be turned into sight, and their suffering to radiant Glory. This is My determined purpose, and I shall not be turned from it. It will shortly begin to be fulfilled. I will turn all their weakness into unbelievable power, and I will use this nation as the last witness to the world as to who I am.

Take very seriously what is taking place in the Arab world. It is not good for Israel! It is not a move toward freedom and true democracy, but an enormous gain for militant Islam. They will seek to annihilate and liquidate Israel, but they will not only fail; their strength and power will be broken, and a huge harvest of souls will be saved from amongst them.

Hear Me, I call you to intercession! It will not be easy. All the powers of My enemy are centred and focused on stopping this people from coming into My Redemption and Salvation. But he will fail! I look therefore for those who will stand in the gap, who will build up the wall; those who will stand in the place of intercession.

Shortly also I will begin more serious judgment on the Western nations. I will bring them to nothing; I will turn them upside down; I will grind them to powder. They will not know what has hit them. It will seem as if there is nothing left of what once I worked in those nations; Especially that Superpower. I will bring it to weakness; she will no longer be super, but a pity of the nations.

Hear this Word of Mine; I call you to intercede for those who belong to Me in those nations; that they will be saved from it! Hear this cry. My heart yearns for those who belong to Me, that they might be clear in their understanding, clear in the way that they are to walk in the midst of all this. Do hear Me! For I speak to you who love Me, and who have this morning remembered Me; I do not desire judgment, but judgment of the most serious and devastating kind will fall upon those nations. Hear this Word from Me, and obey My call to intercession!

Footnote: Earlier this year Lance Lambert described one of his regular updates as 'the gravest and most serious' since he began writing these in 1986. Many believers who pray for Israel are wondering whether we are about to see the fulfilment of the prophecy given in Psalm 83. (See Ps 83:4 et al.)

Lance Lambert, one of the most distinguished Bible Scholars and intercessory leaders in Israel and abroad, died peacefully on May 10, 2015 in Jerusalem, Israel at the age of 84 following a severe illness over the past year. We deeply mourn the loss of our dear Brother and Faithful Servant of our Lord Jesus. We also rejoice knowing that he has entered into the Joy and Presence of the Lord.

Lance's contribution to the Body of Christ cannot be measured. His deep life of intercessory prayer and ministry to the Saints in the midst of battle is reflected in the messages he gave us. He will be fondly remembered for that twinkle in his eye and his British humour when he spoke. He has encouraged so many to press on and pursue to a deeper life in our Lord Jesus. In the Words of our Lord Jesus:

Matthew 25:21: "His Master said to him, "Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the Joy of your Master."

Lance enjoyed a worldwide itinerant ministry. Born in 1931, Lance grew up in England and met the Lord at age 12. He entered the school of African and Oriental studies at London University to prepare for the Lord's work in China. He studied Classical Chinese, Mandarin, Oriental Philosophy and Far Eastern History, but the revolution closed the door to his entry into China.

In the early 1950's, Lance served in the Royal Air Force in Egypt, where he learned many principles in intercessory prayer. He later founded Halford House Christian Fellowship in Richmond, England.

Having discovered his Jewish ancestry, Lance became an Israeli citizen in 1980.

Lance was noted for his eschatological views, which placed him in the tradition of Watchman Nee and T. Austin-Sparks. He wrote numerous books on prayer and Israel, including The Uniqueness of Israel.

RF, you say: "...but do not indicate the gravity of God's cruelty to the innocent." So in fact you are saying that you are more righteous and just than God? You may rail against God but the desire of God is that 'none would perish but all would come to repentance' (2 Pet 3:9). God revealed Himself to man via His son Jesus Christ. So if you are really looking to understand the character of God examine the life of Christ and then make your judgement.

I have a different code for living and actions compared to your OT God. You seem to be washing your hands of the God of the OT and if so that is good. One thing that is still troubling me is that it was emphasised at church meetings that the OT is an integral part of the whole;that surely cannot be the case if Christianity seeks grains of credibility.

God is God of the whole Bible and the whole of history. With all due respect He knows 'it all'. So let us not 'argue' with God as though we were standing on equal platforms. But given that this article is not about the person and character of God, I can create another forum for your questions. Or you can e-mail me if you wish to have a dialogue. Thank you!

Surely this article is about the nature and power of your God. It is so sad that otherwise bright people can read the OT and still devote their energy to such a nasty God. I am so pleased that the only evidence for such a god is from words from humans.And we know how bad many of them can be. Yes, I will close my contribution to this right now. Thank you!

RF, I realise you have closed your mind to the very idea that there is a God, and to justify doing so, you have convinced yourself that He is 'nasty' and not worth knowing. RF has posted a few times on here. I think I understand him.RF is not painting the picture of nastiness the Old T is. Have a close look at the Old T because it is your book of reference. I hope RF does not mind me trying to defend his view point.

God does not change and so if he is nasty in the OT then he would be nasty in the NT too. However, nasty is not a word I'd use to describe a God who loved his creation so much that he was prepared to sacrifice his own son to redeem them back. Punishment is a just response and one which has continued on in mankind since time began. People must pay the penalty for doing wrong and surely that's a concept we can all accept. The difference here is that Jesus took that punishment on our behalf. Love just does not get any better than that!

Punishment is a just response? Well it depends on the degree of punishmen/guilt. It should not mean the slaughtering of thousands upon thousands of innocents, some of whom suffered an almost unspeakable death well before Jesus was born. Babies included;they did not deserve to be the victims of horrific punishment.I suspect Penny does not know the full horror of the Old T.If you want me to give lots of details, to save you looking them up,I will. It does contrast with a loving Jesus and that ought to make Christians more curious about their religion.

I am well familiar with the OT thanks. I think mankind need only look to themselves to see how much horror they are capable of inflicting, and innocents always get caught up in it too. Our world is full of it and it is a cop-out to blame God. It's people who commit sin - not God.

You do not get it.We know much about the deeds of people. I was referring to horrific and unjustified cruelty imposed by the Old T god and so was RF. So much muddled thinking by Christians. So, people are bad, very bad, and therefore whatever God does is ok because, well, he's God.You should revisit the Old T because you will discover that your God knew full well about the slaughter of kids and did not care. Read the stuff for goodness sake. I think the cop out has been misplaced. I will close now.
