Healing ministry: update report
Jim Rettie gives a seasonal update report on the work of the Christian Fellowship of Healing (Highland) over the past year.
Dear Friends,
It is that time again when we reflect on the loving kindness of our Lord throughout the year which is quickly fading into the mansions of eternity. I want to thank you all for your support of, and participation in the work of the Christian Fellowhip of Healing (Highland).
It is interesting and encouraging for me to witness the Lord leading you on and outward in the Kingdom work He has called each of us to. Your willing and enthusiastic response in time, talent and treasure to the various outreaches we have been involved in this year has been a blessing to many , and I thank the Lord for that.
I think of the meetings led by Garry Brotherston, and May Nicholson, and Luis Palau, and our sisters from the U.S.A. and of course John Mellor from Australia.
Also our monthly meetings at St. Stephens Church. I take this opportunity to thank the guest speakers who have kindly supported us in those meetings ; Rev. Donnie MacSween, Rev. John MacLeod, Rev. Peter Donald , Rev. Martin Bateman. Working together in faith we have witnessed the truth of that word in Luke 5:17: ‘And the power of the Lord was present for him to heal the sick’. On behalf of the Fellowship I wish them God’s richest blessings on their lives and ministries.
The reports from members who are involved in Healing on the Streets and Street Pastors and Café Roaster are also very encouraging. Likewise from the initiative taken by John & Morag to have a Healing Tent at the Farmers’ Market in Dingwall; reports of blessings flowing from that venture confirms that it was indeed God inspired. I also want to thank those who have accompanied me on visits to the many who ask for personal ministry for healing of body mind and spirit.
Between all those activities we have enjoyed some Away Days and Fellowship meals , and they have proved to be very refreshing and enlightening with opportunities to share with each other what the Lord has been doing in our lives. Thank you to all who made your homes available and contributed in so many ways in bonding and strengthening us as a team. The latest such meeting took on a national theme 'Homecoming'.
Linda was the inspiration behind it, when she extended an invitation to her home for a ‘Scottish Night’. It included Scottish fayre with Scotch Broth and Haggis and Cranachan. The memorable evening was enriched with song and laughter, and a few recitations; mostly with a Scottish aire. Good idea Linda.
