Black Isle Christians getting together

As an initiative designed to encourage Christians living on the Black Isle peninsula a spiritual 'Filling Station' programme is offering regular opportunities for believers to come together.

Monthy Gatherings in Fortrose Town Hall

Filling Station Fortrose1THE FILLING STATION is a new monthly gathering for those from any church (or none) with contemporary Christian worship, inspiring teaching and the opportunity to receive from God – all starting off with good coffee (or tea).

One of the organisers is (Rev.) Alan Price who says of the venture:

"The meetings are designed to encourage Christians of all denominations (or none) by meeting together for worship, teaching, fellowship and prayer ministry. Those of us who meet weekly in Fortrose on a Monday evening for Bible Study and prayer, felt that this might meet a need for the many Christians on the Black Isle who normally travel outside of the area for Sunday worship –as well as an opportunity to bring un-churched friends".

The first (launch) meeting is on Wednesday, 25 February at 7.00pm when the speaker will be (d.v.). Paul Davie who heads up the Alpha Course in Scotland.

Subsequent meetings will be held on the last Wednesday of each month; with the last meeting prior to the summer holiday period scheduled for 24 June.

Ed footnotes: The Black Isle is – in spite of its name – a peninsula of land just north of Inverness and 'joined' to the city by the Kessock Bridge. A substantial number of Christians from this area (and beyond) routinely travel to Inverness churches and therefore are less likely to meet believers in their own locality. Additionally more and more committed believers are meeting in home-based fellowships - both mid-week and on Sundays.

The meetings in Fortrose are an expressions of a national initiative to establish 'Filling Stations' across the UK.

Jean DarnallThe aims expressed in the above video are very much in line with the vision God gave to Jean Darnall back in the 1967.

Prayer points: The 'Filing Station' meetings offer an opporunity within the Black Isle for outreach, encouragement. and prayer ministry across the body of Christ. Pray that that the body of Christ in the area will be blessed and the Kingdom of God extended. (Heb. 10:25)
