The New Drumossie Hotel, Inverness

THE Local Action Group in Inverness considered and prayed about how our local supporters and friends might like to mark this important anniversary, and do something interestingly unusual, so that we can enjoy ourselves together, and raise funds as well.

We agreed to arrange a dinner at The New Drumossie Hotel, Inverness, on a day that doesn't compete with weekend activities and the hotel management have generously agreed to provide their award-winning restaurant service and meal for £20.00 per person (25% to the Brazil Project). This will allow us to enjoy a main course, and sweet course, followed by tea or coffee later.

We are hoping that the ambience and hospitality of the hotel, and the fellowship among friends will cement a desire within us to continue to support the Society with our prayers, time and finances to secure the ongoing work of translating and distributing the Holy Scriptures to an increasingly needy world.

After the meal we intend to have an auction, and we are grateful to Dingwall Market for allowing auctioneer Daniel Urquhart to control the proceedings. We hope there will be many suitable items to bid for so that all of us may have the fun of participating.

The funds raised will go to the Brazil Project, and Rev Oliver Vellacott will talk of his recent visit there.

BrazilThe Scottish Bible Society plan to provide a 'Bus', fully kitted out, to provide Bibles, medical care, dental services and health education for people living in the North East of Brazil; and by doing so will reach out to some of the poorest people in South America.

Back in June we learned that a large portion of the £200,000 required has already been donated. It is always raising the last several thousands of pounds that prove the most difficult, so please let us give into this situation. Why? Well maybe just in appreciation of God bringing to Inverness, and also for moulding around the influence of our Bibles ever since.
