Highland Theological College - College Principal
This vacancy has now been filled
Position: College Principal
Salary: On application
Start Date: Start date is flexible
Highland Theological College UHI
is seeking applications for the post of Principal. Based in Dingwall, Scotland, HTC is a non-denominational, theological college in the evangelical and reformed tradition. The College offers academic programmes at all levels from Access to PhD and seeks to prepare men and women for Christian ministry. HTC is an academic partner of the UHI Millennium Institute, a partnership of colleges and research centres, working together to provide university-level education throughout the Highlands and Islands of Scotland (see
www.uhi.ac.uk
for more details).
Since 2006, the Highland Theological College has been approved to train candidates for the Church of Scotland ministry.
More information about the mission, aims, history and governance of HTC can be found on our website.
The Principal of HTC will provide leadership in all aspects of the life and running of the College: academic, administrative and pastoral. Candidates for this appointment will themselves be academics who are able to teach theology at university level (the area of theological expertise is open). Ideally, the successful candidate will also have experience of the quality standards applied within the UK university sector. The person appointed should be able to supervise PhD students and will be committed to HTC's continued active involvement in UHI. From the administrative perspective, the Principal will represent the College externally, will lead the College's senior management team and may have some responsibilities regarding fundraising. Pastorally, the Principal of HTC will be responsible for a staff team of around twenty people and will be committed to the mission, aims and theological position of the College, which is a Genuine Occupational Requirement in terms of the Employment Equality (Religion or Belief) Regulations 2003.
