Blue Christmas service to remember loved ones
Following on from expressed appreciations of a similar service last Christmas, an Inverness congregation are again holding a special service over Christmas for those who wish to remember loved ones.
Trinity Church of Scotland
AN INVERNESS Church of Scotland congregation is providing a service again this Christmas time for those who wish to remember family, relatives or friends who have passed on in earlier years.
Last year at this time Rev. Alastair Murray and his congregation at Trinity Church in Huntly Street had a ‘Blue Christmas Service’ which was very well received as a ‘moving and meaningful service’ bringing comfort and uplift to those who were missing their loved ones.
Responding to the encouragements from those who attended last year, Rev. Murray and his church have decided to make the service an annual event.
The parish minister stated: “This is a special service for everyone in our community who wishes to take time to remember friends and family whom they have lost in the previous year, or indeed in years gone by. “Christmas sometimes can remind us all over again about that pain and loss. “It is hoped that through coming together, each of us will find comfort, hope and a sense of peace in the midst of sadness. The service will include a special act of remembrance, which will ensure loved ones are remembered throughout Christmas.”
The 'Blue Christmas' service this year is scheduled for Friday, 17 December commencing at 7.00pm and all those who wish to remember loved ones are warmly invited to attend.
