Bible Sunday 2010
The Scottish Bible Society has nominated 24 October 2010 as a day to 'celebrate the Bible's liberating message.
The Bible Society publicity material states:
The 24th October 2010 - or on a date that suits you best - is a day to celebrate the Bible’s liberating message in your church service.
This year’s theme is -
FREE to GO... The Bible - God's love liberating lives
The Bible gives us the green light to live a life of freedom. And this year’s Bible Sunday explores how this liberating Good News can impact not only our own lives – but our culture, our community and the whole world.
Based on Luke 4: 16-24, the Bible Sunday focus and theme 'Free to GO: The Bible God’s love liberating lives' is unpacked in a collection of superb and flexible and FREE resources to help you create a stimulating service that suits your church.
All the ingredients you need can be found at and downloaded from the Bible Sunday web site. These include:
• Sermon - in bullet outline or fully developed format by Bible teacher Ian Coffey • Drama sketch and engaging all-age activities • Original prayers - call to worship, adoration and confession, intercession and benediction
Pick from an imaginative and varied programme of storytelling, games and other activities, with materials for:
