Israel: what do we pray?

An interview in 2012 highlighted issues which came into sharp focus on  7 October 2023.

Nature of attacksThe deadly attack on Israel by Hamas on Saturday, 7 October while Jews were in holiday spirit on Yom Kippur highlighted the need to pray for a conflct which has continued since the war of 1948 when the nation of Israel was established.

Chuck Cohen of Intercessors for Israel gave an interview (below) during a week-long prayer conference in 2012 which highlighted the critical points regarding prayer for Israel and God's prophetic purposes.

One of these relates to how God responds to nations according to their attitudes towards Israel. (Gen. 12:3)

The other critical need is for the church to recognise God's prophetic purposes for Israel and the Jewish nation. (Ezek. 39:7)

See here also (scroll down on the article) for two church leaders speaking on the above critical topics.

He remembers his covenant for ever, the word he commanded, for a thousand generations,
the covenant he made with Abraham, the oath he swore to Isaac.
He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree, to Israel as an everlasting covenant:
"To you I will give the land of Canaan as the portion you will inherit."
(Psalm 105:8-11)
