Easter 2010 Silent Witness

An opportunity to bear witness to a watching world to the saving sacrifice of Jesus Christ who came that those who receive Him are born again and set free. Do come and join with your brothers and sisters in Christ in an hour of testimony and remembrance.

Act of Silent Witness on Good Friday, 2 April, 2010
from 11.00am - 12noon
(please note the time has reverted to the traditional hour)

As a part of the Easter scene in Inverness it has become a custom for local Christian believers to stand in Silent Witness around a large cross at the intersection of Inglis Street and the High Street for an hour on Good Friday from  11.00am - 12 noon.

This act of testimony of faith in Jesus Christ is a poignant reminder to passing shoppers of the price paid by the Son of God on Calvary, and has traditionally been organised by the Salvation Army.

Local Salvation Army officer James Elliot who has taken over from his predecessor Major Paul Billard extends a warm invitation to all believers to come and stand for whatever period possible. This event is also supported by the Scottish Bible Society which is including the information in its forthcoming newsletter.

Note: It is not necessary for any one person to stand for the whole hour.
